This was performed on 9 July 1934, with Britten on the piano and Charles Coleman on the organ at St. John's Church, Lowestoft. Mr Coleman was the organist of the church. The programme also included other Britten arrangements for organ and piano: 'Moonlight' from Bridge: The sea (May 1934), and the first movement of Tchaikovsky: Concerto for piano (ca. Jul 1934).
