         Description	Composition draft in two parts. Britten has added a double bar at the end of the first system of page 1v. He has then completed the piece on page 2r. He has also written a date of '1926' at the top of page 2r. However, in a letter from 1980 which accompanied a photocopy of the fair copy of this work, C.B.Dacam states that it was in fact written in 1927.

         Description	Photocopy of fair copy written out by Britten for C Brinney Dacam who was on the staff at South Lodge (Britten's prep school). Mr Dacam wrote the text for the song. This photocopy was sent to the Britten Pears-Foundation by Mr Dacam in 1980. The date of composition is mentioned in a letter accompanying the photocopy [link to letter].
